Our Background
The Big Time Group
Established in 2015 in Canterbury, Big Time initially provided musical theatre classes under the guidance of Conservatoire-trained professionals. Two years later, the organisation relocated to the London borough of Barnet, collaborating with the international franchise Petite Performers to deliver high-quality performing arts classes. Rapidly becoming a premier performing arts school, Big Time expanded its offerings.
Transforming an unused storage space in Mill Hill library into a purpose-built dance studio and nursery, Big Time actively supports the NW7Hub charity and collaborates with them to achieve charitable goals, sustain the food and goods bank, and contribute to the community library.
In 2018, Big Time ventured into immersive family experiences and shows, achieving instant success and solidifying its position as a leading production and creative company. Commissioned by Barnet Library services, they delivered the ‘Year of Learning’ program in 2019 across Barnet libraries, funded by the Arts Council.
Big Time marked its presence with the first professional pantomime in Mill Hill in 2018, featuring James Phelps from the Harry Potter film franchise. They also served as the official entertainment for Saracens Rugby’s annual fireworks event at Allianz Park and were honored to light the Christmas tree in Mill Hill Broadway. Collaborating with ‘Together Barnet,’ the Multi-Faith forum, and Barnet Council, Big Time is actively involved in consulting and delivering an annual winter festival celebrating the borough’s cultural diversity.
Post-pandemic, the Big Time Group acquired Emily Cardno Management, rebranding it as Big Time Management, a children’s TV, Film & Theatre agency, achieving notable successes in the West End, Commercials, Feature Films, and The National Theatre.
In February 2023, the Big Time Group further expanded its portfolio by opening Big Time Pre-Prep, a term-time nursery specializing in arts & culture within the EYFS framework. The Big Time Group also owns three Petite Performers franchises across Mill Hill, St John’s Wood, and Harrow on the Hill.
Additionally, Big Time is renowned for its wonderful immersive Halloween experiences, Santa Grottos, and Youth Theatre Productions, further enriching its diverse and engaging offerings. The organisation continues to be a dynamic force in providing top-quality arts and culture, as well as educational training, for the Barnet community.
